New Camera Advice

Post by LaSINda on Sat 18 Jul 2009, 8:40 pm

I really want to buy a new camera and start doing some better amatuer photography. Any ideas on what's good? I don't want anything too expensive, just something decent for cheaper. I'm thinking no more than $300.

well, ill give some advice, if you want good quality, always check the Megapixels the camera exports at.... thats basically the amount of pixels youll have, and its got to be good if your going to edit them.

Yes, the more mega pixels the better. From personal experience I would reccomend a 10mp the least .. try finding one better in your budget Smile

I am going to dissagee and tell you that megapixels are not so important. They have nothing to do with the image quality, but the resolution. More is better but anything 8+ suits all.

For decent photography, you need a begginners digital SLR (which is what I have) like a Canon 350D. This allows you to change lenses and upgrade to more expensive lenses in the future. Nikon are good, but they tend to be overpriced. Best thing to do is buy a second hand canon 350D, I got mine for £150 then eventully I bought a new lens which was £300.

I appreciate your advice. So I should go with a cheaper camera then huh... How about Olympus? I think it is...

I also want the capability to record video in HD. I noticed that the D60 does not have that option. But that the D90 does. Which is of course a bit more money than I would like to spend.

Does the 350D have that option?
