GFX forums dying everywhere around us....

and alot of other forums are dying too.... if youve noticed, not many good designers around today. im trying to get people to join, but we need more people! just dont give up! we can keep this forum going!

We need more members! Ive worked my socks of for this forum and will always do

thats why we have lasted so long other admins are lazy you work hard as do the other staff and members and so do staff under trial like me

Yeah dude we have some great members here.... over the summer i will be going to GFX camps in Chicago, im sure ill convince people to sign up on the forums to stay in touch

Graphix-inc.net was the main forum for me till it closed, it shouldnt have closed, just wing thought no one was interested anymore, but it was easter hols here and people were away etc. and also he'd closed it down once before and like i told him, once you close a forum its really difficult to try bring it back to life again.

And as for the other forums closing, theres loads of forums now, everyone wants to own one, without realising just how hard it is to keep it active and the work that goes into running it.

Thing is, these are signature based foruns. Most of the people who only do sigs get bored after a year or less. Its a reciclable group. Some leave, some join the flow. A fact is that, that type of work exploded some time ago, and every body started to do signares. Everybody was a "designer". Those times may be ending. Maybe less people are joining that flow. And there are allways people leaving. Because they just have some fun and then its over. Some evolve to other type of work but they are very few.

Other mustake forums do, is to give access to the forum only if you register, givin no preview of the content of the forum. Many people go away and dont even register, because there are tons of gfx foruns.

But design isnt dieing. There are tons of design blogs, tons of other type of digital art foruns that are still very healthy and growing every day, because those users realy love what their doing, and it a thing that overpasses the "just for fun" , or "just passing the time", or, " i do because every one else does" thing. The only thing may deying is the sig thing, making the sig based forums dieing too.

i never said "design" was dying. i said the forums around us are dieng. most of our affiliates that once prospered, are now deceased lol.

As far as signatures, im bored as hell of them. i would rather do LPs for the rest of my life.

We should try to get lots of people from other forums. I've been on a forum called clantemplates and i looked at the history and it said : Most users ever online was 2392 users
THAT IS JUST UNBELEIVABLE Come on guys! lets start getting more ppl envolved to this forum!

yah i agree but isnt that "stealing" members and those forums have been around for a long long time and on this forum their are people from america aswell as here in the uk so the time difference is what makes ours lower

I mean the web is like at its highest yet, maybe people are just getting lazy.

well some of them have actually closed down, like the site is still there but its gone and the admins arnt there

Well, What i said isint stealing because those members can still go to the forum we get them off and they might tell there friends to join ours if they like it so i think it is a good idea.

they should all migrate to KF lol.

In order to draw more members we must have something to offer. Clantemplates offer game templates thus drawing a whole bunch of people. Pretty much all we have here is a forum for designers, which is kinda everywhere. Members need to start contributing more resources and such to draw more people.

We should put another page on this forum for templates and some video / step by step tutorials and then people can ask for help on them in the tutorials section seeking help for each tutorial and website template. I am good at webdesign so maybe I could make some to help attract ppl.

same kietho actually i have just had a brainwave me and kietho could do a co-op project to get the forum better for webdesigners? what do you all think

thats a neat idea! What sort of ideas do you have. You can add them in staff room if you like

Like I said somewhere else on this forum. I got lots of ideas to share!! I was thinking of using my ideas for a forum i was planning on making, but I wasint able to hahaha.
